Ok, I'm probably going to be seen as someone who hates my country for this post, and I can assure you, that's not the case. Having said that, have you ever stopped and considered just how unoriginal most of our mainstream sports are? Let's think about this. The game that we call football, is really rugbee but with some minor rule changes to make it less violent. The game that is supposed to be our national passtime, baseball, is a basterdization of the english game of rounders, which from what I've been told is played by school children, and noone over the age of oh, twelve or so. Hockey, and basketball, were ripped off from the canadians! Let's go back to baseball for a second. Has anyone noticed that we were lucky to get out of the first round of a tournament that we are favored to if not win, be in the finals in? This with a group of major leaguers, supposedly the best players in the world, and we didn't even control our own destiny going into the final game of said first round. For a game that our country is supposedly claiming as its own, we didn't even make the olypmics in 2004. Maybe we as a country should stop and think about just how good other countries have gotten in sports that we claim to have invented, but really stole.
